Emergency electrical services

An electrical emergency is anything that puts the house or the people in it at risk right now: a breaker that will not reset, an outlet that sparks or feels hot, a buzzing or burning smell from the panel, wiring exposed after storm damage, or a whole home with no power while the neighbors have theirs. If there is fire or smoke, call 911 first. For everything else, call us, and we will talk you through the next two minutes while the crew is on its way.

When you call, the first thing we do is ask what you are seeing and, if it is safe, have you switch off the affected breaker or the main. That alone removes most of the danger. The crew arrives with a stocked van, isolates the circuit, tests it, and either repairs it on the spot or makes it safe and returns with the parts. Nobody leaves a home with a live fault in it.

What decides how long it takes and what it costs is mostly where the fault is. A failed breaker or a burned outlet is usually fixed in one visit. A fault in the service entrance, in a buried line, or behind a finished wall takes longer and may need the utility company or a permit before it is closed up. We tell you which of those you are looking at before any of the paid work starts, and we do not add anything you have not agreed to.

After-hours visits are priced as a call-out plus the repair, and you hear the call-out figure on the phone before anyone is dispatched. The repair is quoted on site once we can see the fault, in writing, the same way as any other job. Most emergencies end with power back on that day; if the safe answer is to leave a circuit off overnight, we say so, label it, and book the follow-up before we leave.
